There was once a child named Sheryl who was born in the city of Englewood Cliff, NJ. With her two brothers, her father moved the family 11 times during her childhood.
Hi! I'm Sheryl!
Her formative years were spent in Detroit, Michigan where she went against the majority of her schoolmates and favored cross town busing in order to provide equal education for children of color.
Wow! She's so nice to us!
Come with me! All are welcome here!
And she won a DECA award from local businesses for her sales presentation on the important value of functional garage doors.

Garage Doors?! Amazing!
When Sheryl’s family moved to Florida, immediately after High School graduation, a move of which she was not in favor, she followed them. She enrolled at the University of South Florida where, on the day of moving into the dorms, she met Kerry for the first time.
We should be friends!

When they moved to West Hartford, Connecticut, where son no. 1, Avi, was born, Sheryl built a candy and gift business—a cottage industry.

Son No. 2 Jesse, was born during their last days in Connecticut, before they settled in New Jersey where they have lived almost 40 years.
In New Jersey, Sheryl applied her skills in a variety of business settings before agreeing to help two of her vendors build their own business—a company of which she eventually became president—before leaving to form, with a partner, her own marketing research and consulting firm.
It's safe, it works, and the majority like it!Let's do it!
But business and financial gain has never been enough to drive Sheryl. She always wanted to do more—to leave the world in a better place than it was when she was born into it.
I wonder how we can add more rainbows to the world...
As a cancer survivor, she chose to join a local oncologist’s program to deliver weekly challahs to his patients in the hospital.
You get a challah! And you get a challah! And you get a challah!
With their boys out on their own, and growing their own families, Sheryl and Kerry started traveling.

They frequented Israel and often seek out places where the Jewish community once thrived. But, after their first trip to Poland, Sheryl organized a second trip—to share what she had experienced with others. That’s when the seed of the idea for the Sisterhood was born.
Blessed with seven grandchildren, this super savta visits frequently and regularly, whether among the frozen chosen in Minneapolis or up the Garden State Parkway to exit 144 to South Orange, New Jersey. They love her for many reasons, including her world-famous challahs ("hopscotch" better known as butterscotch is one of their favorites).
Some superheroes are born on the pages of graphic novels. Others are created in the minds of artists, cartoonists and storytellers.
There's only one Super Savta!
This superhero, our shero, emerged from the pages of real life—in relationship with real people.
