  • Hey guys, can you help with a school project I need to learn some information about the Islamic religion.
  • If I do speak for us all of course we'll help you Jamal.
  • Can you tell me the origins, their art, the people etc.
  • We believe that Mohammed who was a prophet that told the message of Allah. He preached to Muslims who were worshiping many gods and had forgotten the message of the prophet Abraham to worship one God and live in a way that was pleasing to Allah.
  • Muslims go to mosques to pray. Most praying areas are separated by gender. Muslims also go to masjids to learn and pray, where they can learn the 5 Pillars of Islam which are faith, so you must testify that there is only one god, Allah and that Mohammed is his prophet, to pray 5 times at dawn, noon, mid-afternoon, sunset and at night towards Mecca, to give 2.5% of your money to the poor and needy, fasting for the ninth month month in the Islamic year during Ramadan, and praying to Mecca at least once in your lifetime.
  • We also believe that the last revealed scripture sent by God is the Qur'an. It was the speech of God revealed in the Arabic language to Muhammad during his mission of twenty-three years. The Qur'an emphasizes moral, ethical and spiritual values with the aim of establishing justice for everyone. Some Muslims memorize whole chapters of it and some read part of it every day.
  • Islam is also the second largest religion with 1.2 billion people in the world. There are two basic groups of Islam the Sunnis which is about 80% of the world's Muslims and the Shi'ites which isabout 20% of the world's Muslims
  • Yeah, this more than enough, thanks you guys see you later I have to meet Jasmine and Noah at the library.
  • So is this enough information for your project, Jamal.
  • Holy Trinity Catholic Church
  • Later, that day at Noah's church
  • Oh Hello Noah, of course I can give you information about Christianity that's one of the reasons why I became a Minister.
  • Hi Father Ryan, could you help me to learn some information about Christianity for a school project.
  • You already know that Christianity is the largest religion and that their are many types including Catholic, Lutheran, Methodist, and Protestant. Also Christianity started in Jerusalem after the birth and resurrection of Jesus Christ, before it became illegal to become Christian in Rome in fear of the empire collapsing.
  • So Christians believe that Jesus Christ was the Son of God and that through believing in him and following his teachings they can inherit eternal life. They also believe that Jesus died for humanity, that God raised him from the dead, and that Jesus will come again at the end of time. In addition, Christians believe in the Trinity, or the three parts of God, God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit.
  • Christianity also has holiday's which represent specific dates in it's history. For example we have advent which is the time Christians wait for celebration of the Nativity of Jesus at Christmas and then Christmas to celebrate the birth of Jesus Christ.
  • Some of the symbols which represent Christianity are the tree of life which was a tree in the Garden of Eden which granted eternal life and the white dove which is the symbol for peace and love. Your welcome Noah
  • Thank you, Father Ryan for this information thanks to you I'm bound to get an A+ now!
  • Hello children I'm Rabbi Jonah and I 'll be your teacher and mentor through Hebrew School. I'll start today's lesson off by explaining how Judaism began. Judaism began about 4000 years ago with the Hebrew people in the Middle East. Abraham, a Hebrew man, is considered the father of the Jewish faith because he promoted the central idea of the Jewish faith, that there is only one God. He was told by God that they would live in a land of their own called, the Promised Land. Abraham's son, Isaac had a son, Jacob, also called Israel. In this way the descendants of Abraham came to be known as the Israelites.
  • God promised the Israelites he would care for them as long as they obeyed God's laws. But while still traveling, the Hebrews lived in Egypt where they were enslaved. Moses, a Hebrew, was chosen by God to lead the Hebrew people out of Egypt. Moses led the Hebrew people out of the Sinai Desert toward the promised land. God then gave Moses the Law which would guide the Israelites to today. The laws were called the Ten Commandments and form the basis of the Torah, the book of Jewish law.
  • The common place to worship is a synagogue or temple. The Jewish people are divided into 3 groups Orthodox, Conservative, and Reform Jews. All of these groups celebrate the traditional holiday's of Yom Kippur , Rosh Hashanah, Passover, etc. Our session is now over please come back tomorrow so we can finish our lesson.
  • Are you guys ready for our presentation tomorrow?
