- 1. Hey Imraan have you noticed eversince we've been working here we do not get any benefits if ever we would lose our jobs or have to retire?
- 2. Hey Siba, I've noticed that hey. we do not get any pension fund and UIF, meaning we won't get anything if ever we'd retire or lose our jobs. We need to communicate to Hilda about this.
- 2. Hilda we are very concerned about the benefits we are entitled to but not receiving such as the pension fund. why is that so and what would happen if we would lose our jobs? What would we receive?

- 3. Well here at this company you are not entitled to get that. You earn as you work. Please go do your jobs and let me get busy with mine.
- 1. Imraan and Siba who is doing your job when you are busy holding meetings with me? Anyway, what is wrong, how can I help you guys?
- 1. Yoh Imraan, Icertainly did not expect Hilda to be so rude towards us hey? I guess we will never get those benefits.
- 3. Okay then let's meet up after work and go there.
- 2. Hey Siba you can't lose hope now. we have to fight this. I know a trade union called the Domestic Service and Allied Workers Union, their offices are in town so we can go there after work.
- Siba and Imraan are cleaners working under a company named SQUIKY KLEEN under the Princeton Services Group at their Head Office. They have no benefits like the pension fund or even the UIF.

- 2. Hello guys, I hear your grievance very well. I am agreeing to assist you. What I am going to do is I'll go to your manager and try to resolve the matter with her then i'll get back to you guys.
- Siba and Imraan decide to speak with their Manager Hilda to try and discuss the matter and solve it if possible.
- 1. Hello Hilda, again thank you for agreeing to meet up with me. I'm here to discuss why you and your company do not want to give out benefits that they deserve?

- Siba and Imraan are devastated about the way Hilda handled their grievance and are trying to think of another way to get help to fix their situation.

- 1. Hello sir, my name is Siba and that is my colleague Imraan. we have a problem where by we do not get benefits that we belive are entitled to us such as the Pension fund and the UIF. Is there maybe a way you could assist us?
- Imraan and Siba meet up with Menzi of South African Domestic Service and Allied Workers Union (SADSAWU) to try and get assistance on what they are facing.

- Menzi meets up with Hilda to discuss what Siba and Imraan are going through and to try and find a solution to that.
- 3. Well first of all the UIF is a benefit any employee should get. what you are doing to your employees is unfair, when you lose such loyal employees , your company will be seen as incompetent. they need these benefits for their future also,
- 4. Well I did not look at it at that perspective. I shall offer them their UIF and pension fund benefit.
- Imraan and Siba are very happy with the outcome of Menzi and Hilda.
- 1. Guys Hilda has some good news to share with you. All I can say is I have played my part pretty well.
