- Odysseus and his men are trying to find their way back to Ithaca but are facing a lot of trouble. They are very hungry so they look for mainland. After a long while, they found the land of Cyclops.
- That's a great plan, captain.
- I know we are all hungry but if we wait a little longer we can get delicious good because I see mainland.
- Odysseus and his men successfully escaped the Cyclops cave the next morning and Odysseus was very proud of himself for being so witty. The Cyclops, on the other hand, was infuriated by the thought of him getting manipulated by Odysseus's liquor trick. The Cyclops is furious that he At this he stretched his hands out in his darkness toward the sky of stars, and prayed Poseidon: (ll. 482-483). - rw Now that the Cyclops was blind and sleeping, Odysseus cam up with the perfect plan! Odysseus tied them silently together, twining cords of willow...(ll. 378). This way when the Cyclops let his sheep out for grazing Odysseus and his men could escape back to their ship. The Cyclops would not notice the men because my men riding on the pectoral fleece the giant's blind hands blundering never found (ll. 394-395).
