- Toussaint loved reading every book he could get a hold of his favorites were the ones that talked about philosophers that belived in equal rights.

- Maximilian Robespierre the leader of the Jacobins faught Toussaint during his reighn, Robespierre was known for the Reighn of Terror in France in the excerpt ist states that they were idealists who wanted to take the revolution as far as it could go, so the Jacobins killed because of what they belived in. Robespierre wasnt to sure about slaves and even questioned equality, this is what became the down fall of his terror.
- Napoleon agreed to peace with Toussaint aslong as he gains control. A few weeks after Toussaint left the counsell called a meeting and kidnapped Tussaint sending him to France. Napoleon wanted Toussaint to die in a cell starved and cold.

- Soon after Toussaint died Napoleon was sent to jail and died the same cold way he did and when asked what it meant to him he saidWhat could the death of one wretched Negro mean to me? Napoleon was a mean man who killed one of his top competators to be the best because only one could take over and he knew it Toussaint Louverture.
