  • Ugh! Fine.
  • Here take this money, now please let me smuggle some molasses and sugar.
  • Molasses
  • Guys. we have to be very secretive or else we might get arrested. We use violence to frighten tax collectors and we boycott Britsh goods. Lets prepare to argue against this Stamp Act! At the end of our meeting, we will discuss where we will meet next time. Is that clear?
  • Sons of Liberty Formed.
  • Look, we are in debt after the war. The colonists should help pay for some of the expenses since we defended them. We have decided to put a tax on printed materials such as newspapers, pamphlets, marriage licenses, and playing cards.

  • Yeah, that makes sense.
  • Quartering Act
  • The Quartering Act allows me to stay in your house and you have to pay for fuel, candles, beer, and transportation!
  • What!?? That is not fair at all!
  • Townshend Act
  • I am the new British Prime Minister, Charles Townshend. I just imposed a new "indirect" tax  on glass, lead, paint, paper, and tea. I call it indirect because the tax is collected at the seaport and then it is included in the price at the stores. Hopefully the colonists don't notice! Ha!
