- Potato Famine
- Oh, all our crops have failed!
- My family found out all our potato crops had failed with some sort of strange disease. We declared a financial crises as we don't have much food, and nothing to sell and make money with at the market. Then Dad soon found out, by chatting to the neighbours, that it had happened to everyone else too!
- Arriving
- Wow, this is so different!
- Settling

- When we got to New Zealand the first thing I noticed was that it was a lot warmer and all the buildings were taller. It was very different from the home I was used to. I would never get used to this! Moving countries is hard!
- We were gifted a small area of land by the government in return for service from my Dad. He was named a fencible, and had had already had lots of practice at the things he was doing as he had been in the army back in Ireland.
- After the potato famine had been cured, and my Dad had finished his duty as a fencible, I went back to Ireland. The population had been decreased a lot due to starvation. My family decided to use traditional transport, as we went on a long boat journey.
- Come on, let's go back to Ireland...
