Wait a minute ladies. Only boys are allowed to vote.
Yeah why?
Why are only boys allowed to vote?
Well, because girls votes don't mean anything.
Mom why cant girls vote?
Well, it's because we belong in the home.
Why?
Thats just the way it's always been honey.
But there might be a new amendment being passed that will allow women to vote.
My mom said girls might be able to vote soon because of a law being passed.
My mom told me that my grandma Susan B. Anthony was part of the women's suffrage movement. She and her friend Cady Stanton founded the national Womens Suffrage Association in 1890.
The Womens Suffrage movement was very important to the 19 Amendment being passed. The National Woman’s Suffrage Association brought attention to the discrimination that women were facing in America. This was such a big issue because women deserved to have equal rights. Ultimately the Womens Suffrage movement lead to the drafting of the 19th Amendment
My mom said this about the amendment......
Yeah its called the 19th Amendment.
Yeah, my parents have been talking about it too.
Have you guys heard about the 19th Amendment allowing women to vote? It will be added to the constitution.

The 19th Amendment will allow for more women to be part of the government and will be able to vote on political issues that also affect their everyday life. The Amendment will give women the rights they deserve.

The 19 Amendment was officially being used on August 18th, 1920. This Amendment opened many doors for women to be a part on Congress and other very important jobs. It shows that being able to vote is important and that everyone's voice matters!
