Storyboard Text

  • I wish we could land, and walk around, but we can't because there is not surface. Most of Uranus is the atmosphere, swirling fluids and gasses like hydrogen, helium, and methane
  • Here we are, in betwwen Saturn and Neptune, at Uranus. Alright. You'll take measurments from this pole, and I'll launch a probe to measure the other pole.
  • Wow, the temperature is -216 degrees Celcius here, at the top of the clouds
  • So, there are no volcanoes, because there is no surface. Pretty fitting that Uranus was named after the Greek god of the sky, then.
  • The seasons are also really long here. The poles are tilted, so a pole faces away from the sun for 21 years during the winter or summer
  • Yeah. The revolution of Uranus is 84 Earth years, while each day, or rotation on its axis is only 17 hours.
  • I want to go back to Earth. I don't like being 17 billion miles from Earth
  • Uranus is a lot bigger tha Earth, too, with a diameter of 31,690 miles
  • Look at all the moons. There are 27! There is Umbriel, and over there is Miranda
  • We are the second space craft to ever visit Uranus. The first was the Voyager 2
  • That's really cool. Now let's go home so we can tell everyone about Uranus
