Water pollution threatens this vital ecosystem, with millions of tons of plastics and chemicals harming marine life, destroying coral reefs, and disrupting food chains. Pollution causes species deaths and impacts human livelihoods tied to the sea. To protect life below water, we must reduce plastic use, dispose of waste properly, support sustainable fishing, join clean-up efforts, and back protective policies. Our oceans are crucial for oxygen, climate regulation, and food—protecting them is a responsibility we all share to ensure a healthy future for marine life and ourselves.
