  • Scientists organize living organisms in many ways!
  • They ask questions like:- Do they have a backbone?-How does the organism breath?-What does their body look like?
  • Pretend you are a scientist. How would you organize us?
  • Scientists classify us into vertebrates, like me, who have a backbone and skeleton!
  • Some invertebrates, like snails, have shells.
  • And invertebrates like me! I'm a worm with no backbone or skeleton.
  • Five classifications of vertebrates: 1) Fish2) Amphibians3) Reptiles4) Mammals5) Birds
  • Amphibians live on land and water, have moist skin, and lay eggs in water!
  • Reptiles have dry scales, lay leather shelled eggs, and are cold blooded.
  • Birds are warm blooded and have feathers,
  • with hollow bones, and lay hard shell eggs.
  • Fish live in water and have wet scales,
  • breathe with gills, and sometimes lay eggs!
  • What do we all have in common? We lay eggs!
  • Mammals have hair and are warm blooded!
  • They also give birth to live offspring and produce milk for them!
  • Now you know all about the types of organisms!
