Storyboard Text

  • Introduction
  • I wonder who this island belongs to?
  • It belongs to the Cyclopes.
  • Leadership Traits
  • Example #1 of bravery
  • "Cyclopes, try some wine. Here’s liquor to wash down your scraps of men.Taste it, and see the kind of drink we carriedunder our planks. I meant it for an offeringif you would help us home."
  • "Give me another, thank you kindly."
  • Odysseus and his crew stumble upon a island of unknown creatures and decide to explore the island to learn more about them.
  • Example #2 of bravery
  • Odysseus is a brave and fearless leader. He made the fearless decision to lead his men to explore the unknown island of one eyed creatures that could possibly be dangerous.
  • Example #3 of fearlessness
  • "‘O Cyclops! Would you feast on my companions?Puny, am I, in a Caveman’s hands? How do you like the beating that we gave you,you damned cannibal? "
  • Because Odysseus decided to lead his men they began to wonder around the island, he ended up leading them into a cave even though his crew insisted that they should just take food and make a run for it. Odysseus had no clue that the cave belonged to a Cyclopes and they ended up being trapped in the cave by the cyclopes. Odysseus showed an act of bravery when the Cyclopes trapped him and his men in his cave. Instead of taking his sword and killing the Cyclopes with it, Odysseus thinks quickly on his feet and offers him some wine in hopes that he will free them.
  • Conclusion
  • After Odysseus gave the Cyclopes the wine he ended up getting drunk. Because of this Odysseus shows another act of fearlessness and bravery by coming up with an escape plan. He and his men manage to escape hiding underneath the bellies of the Cyclopes sheep.
  • After Odysseus and his men escaped they headed straight for their ship. Once they made it to their ship Odysseus showed fearlessness by calling out and yelling at the Cyclopes possibly making the creature even angrier.
  • In conclusion, Odysseus is indeed a brave and fearless leader, but, he is also an impulsive leader. If it weren't for him being curious of the mysterious island some of his crew would've never got eaten by the Cyclopes. He had the option to take food off the island and go back to his ship but because of his impulsiveness he kept wandering and ended up being trapped in the Cyclops's cave. In example 3 he made yet another impulsive decision to tempt the Cyclopes when he was already angered. Due to his impulsive decisions this makes Odysseus a bad leader.
