Storyboard Text

  • During the signing of the Treaty of Paris Britain agreed to remove their troops from US territory. While the US agreed to pay back the loyalists property taken from them. The US didn't hold up their end so Britain did not remove all of their troops.
  • I'm happy that we will both be able to hold up our ends of the treaty.
  • I am so glad we have come to an agreement.
  • Since the US had not given back property taken from the loyalists the British troops continued to occupy the US. Colonial merchants became angry due to not having access to the west indies and other British markets.
  • We are a different country!
  • Why cant the British leave? We won our independence.
  • I can't believe the British have cut off our access to the west indies and other markets!
  • John Adams was sent to discuss the problems between the US and Britain. The British were unwilling to talk. Since the states had more power than congress they regected the idea of each state paying
  • How are we going to solve this issue. If the states don't vote we will have British occupying us and less places to trade.
  • I know the states are so wrapped up in their own problems they don't see what is good for our nation.
