- One major theme of The Monster Are Due on Maple Street Theme by rod Serling is that Good Friends Are Hard To Find. For example, they were blaming less because he was acting suspicious but he wasn't and they were looking at him and his house. another example is that Goodman was trying to turn on his car but it didn't turn on but when he got out the car turned by itself and they were acting suspicious at him because the car turned on. the third example is that they are blaming everyone because they are not trusting them and their friends so you have good friends that trust you and see if you're not an alien. then they were blaming everyone because all their house lights turned on by themselves. Even charlie was judging less and Steve because less car turned on and with Steve radio and he was suspicious. also when charlie was suspicious he started staying up late and looking at less house and charlie sound like he was drunk. and when charlie saw the guy walking in the shadow they thought the guy in the shadow was the monster and he grab a gun and shot the shadow and Charlie that shot the guy people know who the guy is that got shot now they were suspicious on charlie because his light turned on and he shot the guy and he was really nervous. Even they threw rocks at his house and he was bleeding in his forehead. Steve was calm and was trying to not let them create a mob. So that why good friends are hard to find because some of the friends won't trust you and they will judge you.
