- After the british lost in the american revolution they turned their attention to india. The EIC (East India Company) had been in india ever since the 1600s but started taking control of the area in the late 1700s. The EIC were a business that did international trade but their business was also imperialism. Any resistance against the EIC was met with force.

- Why are they invading us, we did nothing to them?
- The sepoy mutiny was when the indians fought back against the british for wronging them.The biggest reason this happened is because the british made the indians use bullet cartridges greased with pig and cow fat. This was bad because the indians were muslims and hindus and it was against their religion to eat pigs or cows. The british refused to change the grease on the cartridges. The indians thought this was a really big deal.
- We cant do this anymore its against our religion and it's wrong

- The British were taxing indians on salt. They made it illegal for indians to make their own salt also. Because of this gandhi led a protest that was against the british salt tax. He and some of his followers marched to the sea to collect salt. Him and a few others went to jail for their actions
- We need to stop the salt tax and get them out of India!
