bacteria is all around us but is very bad, it can be found in some foods if we are not careful such as raw foods: raw meat, eggs, sea food but also on people if they have bad hygiene, wasted food or dirty equipments
and the thing is about bacteria is that your not able to see, smell or taste it so you don't know where it is
also bacteria can double or multiply in seconds so is much easier to catch
bacteria needs time to grow so the longer you leave it out the more it will grow
in order for bacteria to multiply it requires...
foods with high fat or protein such as cooked meat, eggs or dairy products are easy for bacteria to grow on but sugary or acidic products will not grow or multiply bacteria
bacteria will not grow where moisture has been removed or reduced, such a frozen peas
if food is in a warm area the bacteria will multiply quicker when in the temperature of 5C - 63C
if foods are kept in the freezer the bacteria will stop growing if it is passed the freezing point (-18c) but bacteria will start multiplying again once taken out of the freezer and has de-frosted
if foods are refrigerated the bacteria may carry on growing but slowly
to kill bacteria there are many ways, you can either kill it by using cleaning products that have chemicals to kill them, you can use hot water/steam to kill bacteria off when food is cooked up to 72C or if you have left over food you can store it in a storage cupboard that is over 64C to assure that bacteria does not grow or multiply.
