- Hello, I am rich America in the system of capitalism. I rely on inequality in order to pay workers less and allow the rich to accumulate more wealth for themselves.
- Hello, I am St. Basil. I preach against greed and mistreatment of the poor for personal gain, as well as those who use God and his teachings for their own benefit.
- "Where have the things you now possess come from?... Why are you wealthy while that other man is poor?"
- I profit off the work of others. The less I pay them the more money I make. I pay and protect them so I deserve to keep the money they make me.
- "When you hoard all these things in the insatiable bosom of greed, do you suppose you do no wrong in cheating so many people?"
- I'm not cheating anyone. I was just smart enough to put myself in a position to make so much money. Anyone can do it if they put their mind to it.
- "Someone who takes a man who is clothed and renders him naked would be termed a robber; but when someone fails to clothe the naked, while he is able to do this, is such a man deserving of any other appellation?"
- You purposely disadvantage people to justify your mistreatment of them. How can you expect them to succeed in a system that was designed to oppress them for your success?
- You're disgusting. "The silver that you keep hidden in a safe place belongs to the one in need. Thus, however many are those whom you could have provided for, so many are those whom you wrong." It is your fault they remain in poverty.
- I do clothe and feed them. I pay them. They just deserve less money than me because they are inferior. They should work harder if they want more money to provide for themselves.
