- In this scene, there is a street fight between the Capulets and the Montagues. Tybalt and Benvolio are fighting but get stopped by the prince. The prince orders everyone to stop fighting and if they continue, he will have them executed
- On pain of torture, from those bloody hands, Throw your mistempered weapons to the ground, And hear the sentence of your movèd prince ! (Shakespheare 1.1.85)
- ACT 1 SCENE 5
- I'll go along, no such sight to be shown, But to rejoice in splendor of mine own. (Shakespeare 1.2.105)
- In this scene, Benvolio convinces Romeo to go to the Capulet party to cheer him up and make him see there are other women than Rosaline. Romeo agrees to go, but only to prove his point of Rosaline being his one true love.
- My only love sprung from my only hate! Too early seen unknown, and known too late! Prodigious birth of love it is to me, That I must love a loathèd enemy. (Shakespeare 1.5.150)
- In this scene, Juliet finds out the person she danced with and kissed was none other than a Montague. She is extremely shocked to find out about this from her nurse. Her nurse is than confused at the saying she says in response to her telling Juliet who her love is.
