Dr. Seward and company travel to Lucy's coffin to put an end to her suffering after much deliberation. Upon arrival to the tomb they remove the lid of the coffin, to their horror they find no body within it. Seward and Morris admit to inspecting the coffin previously and knowing of Lucy's roaming from it. They also claim that missing children could be the work of an undead Lucy at night. They then proceed to find her whereabouts.
Admittedly we foresaw this, Lucy had been wandering from her tomb for a while. We must save the children and put an end to this fiasco. for her sake and ours.
The situation seems quite dire, in her condition she should be captured immediately! My expertise can save us, we must hurry!
Why has this happened? All I wished was for her to rest in peace, not for her to be stuck in this world.
But what is that she is holding? Oh my! It is one of the children! Forgive us, I shall fix my deeds.(Seward)
Van Helsing closes the door to the crypt with communion wafers to prevent any undead from reentering. Upon exiting the room the crew sees a white figure holding an object approaching them. Upon getting closer they can see the figure is nonother than Lucy with blood painted across her face.
Is that her? Lucy! Come back to us! (Arthur)
Why my dear child, it shall all be okay. This is for the greater good. HISSSSSSS.
The encounter with Lucy begins with her hissing, and Seward realizing the fate that had come upon Arthur's beloved. They decided at that moment they had to kill Lucy and began to approach. Then Lucy smiles and begins to fling the child in her hands to the ground as if she were a dog and it her prey. Finally she attempts to seduce Arthur one last time which seemingly works, however Van Helsing stops Lucy in her tracks with a crucifix.
In the name of all that is holy bend to our god's will!
What of the child? My Lucy? This, this can't be! Yet she is still so alluring...
Come, my husband, for I am hungry for you. Leave this nonsensical quest and give into our love.
As she approached the door, Lucy suddenly stops. The crucifix and communion wafers having frozen her in place. The moral good defeating the vampiric nature. Van Helsing asks Arthur for permission to finish the job and he-in great sorrow-approves of Heling's actions. Helsing opens the crypt and lets Lucy run inside the tomb once more. The child was now safe from Lucy's grasp and free of her sin.
We must end her, she is not the woman I loved any longer. For her sake... and ours.
Arthur, you know what we must do. I do you this courtesy by asking first.
As dusk proceeded to night on September 29th, Arthur, Morris, and Seward follow Helsing into the tomb. They inspect the state of Lucy, seeing the effect of vampirism on the average person. They then scatter the tools to end her across the room, preparing to end the life of Lucy.
I shall take it upon myself as much as it pains me. She is not my beloved, just a mere nightmare in her place.
Her body, it, it is lifeless. No soul left intact, its as if she were a demon. We should do her memory one last justice now.
With great remorse and a wish to reinstall the purity to his beloved Arthur volunteers to end Lucy's un-dead existence. The others give him words of encouragement, reassuring him that their actions are in god's name and they fight for the good of this world against the sin Lucy has been corrupted to. Arthur then proceeds to pick up the stake and hammer and strikes until the screaming stops, but only then he could rest assured she was at peace, free of sin.
We may not know your pain Arthur, but this is what she would have desired.
Now her soul goes free, forgive this Arthur, but rest knowing she is at peace now.
May you forgive me, but this is what must be done. May I free you!
