Base
OHHH. So like in the example 3^2 3 is the base??
Please help me with exponents I don't get it at all. I'm going to fail this chapter!!
Don't be so dramatic I will help. Lets start with the base. It is the number that is being multiplied.
Exactly.
Exponent
So like in 3^2, 2 is the exponent right?
Moving to exponents, they are the number that is on top of the base. It is the number the base is being raised to.
Yep!
Product Rule and Quotient Rule
OHHH. I remember this the other rule is the quotient rule. It goes like x^5/x^2 and it would end up as x^3.
Moving on to the next topic. The product rule. An example would be x^2 x^5 and you would add the exponents resulting in x^7
You are getting it now!!!
Power to Power Rule
OHHH I get that. Before the rules were adding and subtracting now it multiplying.
Here is another rule for you to remember the power to power rule. An example would be like (x^3)^2 it would end up as x^6 because 3 times 2 is six
Zero exp rule and Negative exp rule
OHHH. I see and the last rule it the negative exponent rule right?
Then we have the zero rule. This is saying 3^0 is always going to be 1. No matter the number
Exactly! That's perfect
Final project!!
OF COURSE YOU ARE AN AMAZING TEACHER. WE ARE FINALLY DONE!!!!!
LETS CELEBRATE
Finally finished you got it all???
LETS GO.
It means when 2^-2 it is going to be 1/2^2 right?
