- “Why must’ve I, your professor, listen to your doubts and concerns?”
- “It is supposed to be “It is supposed to be your duty to pay attention to the students’ concerns.”
- “You filthy rat! Get out of my class; I shall not listen to the concerns of someone like you.”
- “How am I supposed to learn with all of this mess. The teacher doesn't even respect us. He treats us like animals.”
- “Fine. Leave. You should leave it how it is anyways. You are going to get into trouble if you keep fighting with the professor.”
- “Do not worry, Copernicus, I will leave the class. Please don’t get into trouble because of me.”
- Raheem proceeds to withdraw from the classroom, leaving in slow and steady denial and anger steps, rejected by his professor. Even though he already knew that he might’ve just gotten himself expelled, Raheem still did not want to accept the sheer fact of what he had done and cause with just his words.
- “Anyone else wants to defy me? Anyone else wants to end up like Raheem? Like a filthy pig in the mud?!”
- “Anyways, now that the distraction is out of the classroom, we can proceed with the class.”
- “I feel so bad for Raheem… He didn’t deserve that at all.”
- At this moment, Copernicus learned that if he wanted to succeed, he couldn't rely on anyone else but himself.
- Copernicus couldn't pay attention anymore. He heard his teacher’s voice fade away as he could only think about his friend. Copernicus wondered how someone could succeed in life if almost everyone were against him. He knew that he needed to achieve even without anyone’s support. He was alone.
