In October 1789 women marched to Versailles. They started marching to Versailles because they didn't like that bread prices were rising. They demanded that Louis and Marie Antoinette return to Paris.

Louis XVI was convicted and condemned to death on January 21, 1793. Marie Antoinette was convicted of treason nine months after Louis XVI was executed. She died on October 16, 1793. Both were guillotined.
Napoleon was a military leader which helped him gain the support of commoners. He claimed power in 1799 and in 1804 he crowned himself emperor.
Napoleon made many bad decisions that led him to be defeated. One of them was when he went to Moscow with his troops in 1812 and stayed there for weeks even though they had no food. They got sick and then Russia attacked, many of his troops died.
