  • I am her husband, Joseph Wright
  • I am her cousin, Robert Feke and I am third-wheeling!
  • Patience Wright was born in Oyster Bay, New York, but moved to Bordentown, New Jersey when she was 4. She was born into a Quaker family that was on a vegetarian diet. She had 9 siblings and the children of the family were only permitted to wear white until they reached the age of 15.
  • When I was 16 I ran away to Philidelphia with her cousin Robert Feke. It was there that she met her husband Joseph Wright. They had 5 children together.
  • My mane is Jane Mecom and I help Patience Wright integrate into British society.
  • Joseph Wright died in 1769. Patience Wright still had the family home in Bordentown, New Jersey, but had no income or money. She soon realized that she needed to find a way to support herself and her five children. Her sister Rachel Lovell Wells suggested that she use her skill of sculpting to make a living.
  • Patience Wright took her sister's advice and began sculpting and selling wax figures. Soon, she opened her own Wax Museum in New York City. One time, she even sculpted for the King and Queen of England. It is said that she called the King and Queen by their first names! However, Patience had to close down her wax museum shortly after opening it because she couldn't afford to keep the biulding.
  • Patience Wright then moved to London, England. With the help of Jane Mecom, she integrated into British Society.
  • While living in London, Patience Wright became a spy. She slipped notes inside of her wax figures. She then put them on boats and shipped them to the colonies. They were then given to another spy who melted the figures to get the note out. The information that Patience Wright provided helped save the French for a sneak attack.
