- One night while Queen Hecuba was sleeping she had a dream about giving birth to a flaming torch. When she woke up she told her husband about the dream and he called in for his first born son. The first born son told then what the dream was about. This baby would be the downfall of Troy and so they needed to kill the baby.
- When the baby was born they couldn’t kill him themselves so they sent out a servant to do it. But he couldn’t do it either do he left it in the woods alone to perish. When the servant came back the baby was alive so the servant took him home and raised him on his own.
- When the baby was all gown up the called him Paris. Paris lived in Troy and one day he came up with a challenge for someone to fight against his bull. Paris believed that his bull was the best. But then the gods heard of this and Ares transformed into a bull and so Ares won. Paris was very humble and gave Ares the prize. The gods saw his humbleness and after that he watched after him.
- Then Zeus was throwing a wedding for Thetis and Peleus and invite all the Gods and Goddesses except one. The one he didn’t invite was Eris. He didn’t invite her because she caused chaos and mischief wherever she went. When she heard she wasn’t invites she god really made and brought in a gold apple. All the women began to fight over it and the three left standing ding were Athena, Aphrodite, and Hera. They wanted Zeus to choose who was the best but he wouldn’t.
- He sent them down to Paris and he would choose. They then became to offer him al sorts of things but he only listened to Aphrodite. Her offer was the she could make Helen fall in love with him. Helen was so pretty and she loved men of strength and power. So he gave the apple to Aphrodite.
- The husband of Helen became enraged with jealousy and he wanted to kill whoever had his wife. He swore that Troy would fall before his wife fell in love with someone else. That’s how the Trojan War began.
