Storyboard Text

  • Ralph
  • "Ralph grasped the idea and hit the shell with air from his diaphragm. Immediately the thing sounded." I think the authors pov here is ralph takes the conch and blows on it to attract the other children. I think the readers pov here is ralph blows on it and makes a loud noise to attract the others. This is a meaningful quote because ralph becomes a very important character after the conch shell.
  • "Give me my specs!" The authors point of view here is third person omniscient because he knows the thoughts of more than one person. The readers point of view is when he says this is third person limited because we only know the thoughts of piggy right then. This is an important quote because without them he cannot see very well.
  • Piggy
  • Sam and Eric
  • "Ralph! Wake up! The leaves were roaring like the sea. Ralph, wake up! What's the matter? We saw the beast. This is an important quote because they think they saw the beast and it caused them to let the fire out. The author's pov here is third person omniscient because he knows the thoughts of Ralph and SamnEric. The reader's pov is also third person omniscient because the author tells us the thoughts of Ralph in the quote and Sam and Eric.
  • Authors pov, readers pov, meaningful quote, describe why
  • Simon
  • "Simon's dead body moved out toward the open sea." The author's pov is third-person limited because he knows the thoughts of piggy and ralphs at the end of chapter 9 when Simon's body is floating out. The reader's point of view is also limited because they only know the thoughts of Ralph and piggy in this specific time. This is an important quote because it shows Simon died.
  • Jack
  • "Look! We've killed a pig". This a meaningful quote because they finally killed a pig so they can eat some meat. I think the authors point of view is that before they were not willing to kill but now after being away from civilization, they kill the pig. The reader's point of view here is that they kill the pig for meat.
  • Roger
  • "The dark boy, Roger, stirred at last and spoke up. Let's have a vote." This is an important quote because he suggests that they pick a chief and vote for him which is a good idea and supports the rest of the story. The author's pov is third person limited because the thoughts in this quote are limited to just knowing what Roger is saying. The reader's pov is also limited because we are only aware of what he is thinking and saying.
