  • Narcissus saw his reflection and fell in love with himself. He called out to his reflection with no response. He stopped eating and sleeping waiting for his darling to respond to him. He eventually died by the pool of water never knowing he was in love his reflection. A beautiful flower grew right at the spot where he died.
  • When Hercules was born the goddess Hera hated him. Hercules grew to be loved by everyone including his own family . He was a big, strong hero. This made Hera furious. She cast a spell on him causing him to kill his whole family. But, when the spell was lifted he was totally distressed. He prayed to God Apollo, who told him he had to do 12 years of hard labor for King Eurystheus. His first task was to kill a lion that was eating the kingdom's people. He went to the lion's cave and strangled him by himself without even a weapon.
  • The most beautiful woman in ancient Greece named Helen married King Menelaus. She became Queen of Sparta. All the other kings and princes wanted to marry her also. The Prince of Troy kidnapped her and took her home and she was known as Helen of Troy. Greece soldiers gave a huge wooden horse as a gift to Troy and hid inside until thee Troy villagers were asleep. Then they attacked and got Helen back. Not all gifts are good for you.
