Russia aggression (Ukraine War)
The main issue is Russia's aggressive power. Russia trying to be a global power has been going on for many years even back to the Cold War (Soviet union competing with US) however the tipping point was when Russia attacked Ukraine.

Nato Expansion
NATO
Countries joining
Russia invasion on Ukraine biggest war since WW2. This caused Finland and Sweden to feel vulnerable so they joined NATO. Finland joined NATO April 2023 and Sweden joined March 2024. The strategy of NATO expanding (Finland and Sweden maybe eventually Ukraine is hopefully addressing the concern.
Slide: 5
What we are doing to stop Russia
NATO is continuing to strengthen defensives, supporting Ukraine by funding/ humanitarian support and being determined to support Ukraine by building a force to defeat Russia. For defenses they include but are not limited to thousands extra troops both sides Atlantic, over 40000 troops air navy assess, 8 multinational battlegrounds, 500000 high readiness forces, and increasing resilience societies infrastructure against hybrid and cyber attacks.

Containment what is and why used in history
Containment: The idea of stopping and making sure something doesn’t spread. During the Cold War the USSR (Soviet Union) was expanding and the US was concerned that their idea of communism would spread throughout the world threatening US interests. The fear of USSR's global power (communism) caused US believe in domino theory where if one country fell to communism others would too. The containment policy was a way to stop USSR without going to war.
Slide: 7
Containment in Korean War
Containment was used in Korean War when North Korea (soviet union and later china) invaded South Korea trying to make Korea completely communist. Us used military force to have South Korea remain a non communist country showing containment was mostly effective although not as helpful in big picture long run it prevented communism in South Korea and a clear line was made separating non communist South Korea from communist North Korea.
Slide: 8
How we should use containment today to stop Russia
NATO
We must use containment to stop Russia's power. We would do this by coming up with an agreement such that in order to contain Russia it means Russia gets to keep the regions of Ukraine it already won ( Ukraine must agree) but then it stops there and in return Ukraine gets to join NATO ( Russia must agree). The intended outcome is that both sides are happy enough that the war in Ukraine is over and Russia's power is contained.
Slide: 9
Why Containment will work today
In the past containment was used during the Korean War. The north was communist and the US was able to have South Korea be non communist . The situation is very similar because in the past containment was trying to stop the spread of communism and now it is trying to stop the spread of Russian power. Korea was split by a line divided communist and not communist which worked and just like today if the agreement between Russia and Ukraine was made then there would be a line where Russia controls and where Ukraine is still free.

Vote for me
If you want Russian aggression to stop and containment agreement to work than please vote for me I promise to do that
Russia is an extremely aggressive world power and the US being a world power intends to stop it especially to help Ukraine . In conclusion containment has worked well in the past and in this parallel situation it will work just as well now to stop Russia's dominating world power.
