- One day, on a cold and wintery day, a wealthy couple got an unexpected ring on the door bell.
- When they went to check who rang the doorbell, they found a baby girl named Valerie on their doorstep. Her skin was sallow and pale because of the cold. The wealthy couple didn't know how to respond because of how shocked they were. Because the woman couldn't get pregnant, the couple wanted to adopt Valerie.
- Who would put a baby outside in such cold weather! Look how pale she is.
- Please take care of Valerie
- Can we adopt her? She doesn't have a home.
- Valerie has a filial affection for her adoptive parents, who raised her. As Valerie grew up, she loved reading and writing and wished she could write novels but was frustrated and discouraged by the thought of her failing or people making fun of her for writing. Valerie thought that it would be incoherent for her to meet anyone her age who understands the passion of writing.
- I wish I could write a novel, but I'm scared people might make fun of my novels.
