- Laius and Jocasta receive the Oracle of Delphi, which states that any son born of Laius is prophesized to murder him and marry his wife, thus beoming the new King of Thebes.

- Take the child and bring him to your King and Queen

- Laius orders a herdsman to abandon Oedipus in the mountains, but he takes pity on the baby and offers him to a passing stranger, King Polybus of Corinth's messenger.
- Slide: 3
- Oedipus becomes aware of his prophecy but believes the victims are Polybus and Merope. He sets off to Thebes, where he gets into a an agrument with an old tarveler at a crossroads, and kills the man. But he doesn't know that man is his father.

- Yeah.
- After he killed a King, Oedipus married the Queen, but he doesn't know that woman was his mother.
- Slide: 5
- Now, I'm a new King of Thebes.
- Yes sir.
- After Oedipus married his mother, he becomes a new King of Thebes.

- Are you not ashamed to start a private feud when the country is suffering?
- I have no desire to have the responsibilities of a King.
- As my brother-in-law, you have a sharing ruling of this country. And you have proven your false friend. I should kill you.
- Creon knew that Oedipus killed a King, and he tries to make Oedipus has to telling the truth, also talk to the Queen about that situation.
