- Ellie has 3 sisters, father, and his mother. They lived in a small town called Sighet, Hungarian Transylvaina. Ellie wanted to learn Jewish mysticism. He found out Moshe is a master at it so he ask him to teach him.
- World War ll was still going on. The people of Ellie town were wondering if the war is going to reach them. The foreign Jews were deported including Moshe, But he managed to escape while they were killing the other Jews. Than he went back and was trying to worn people, but they didn't belived him.
- German soldiers came to Ellie town and soon there were ghettos. They let the people know they are going to be deported to concentration camp. Ellie and his father stayed together.
- They arrived to Birkenau an then there men are separated from womens. From there they went to Aushwitz. There Ellie saw death and despair. This is where they lost his hope in god.
- They spent time at the camp for a while than they had to leave on a fifty mile death march to Gleiwitz. The train reaches the concentration camp Buchenwald. Ellie and his father were lucky to survive. After they both helped each other survive
- In Buchenwald Ellie father dies. Once that happened Ellie felt guilty and didn't know how to feel. Ellie survived the ordeal. Ellie was free on April 11, 1945.
