- Saul was born as a Jewish Israelite in Tarsus, Cilicia. He was circumcised on the eighth day.
- I have been sent by the Lord Jesus so that you may recover your sight and be filled with the Holy Ghost.
- Saul was present at the stoning of Stephen. He also persecuted many followers of Jesus of Nazareth in Jerusalem and Judea. He entered every house, sending followers of Jesus to prison and threatening murder.
- Jesus is the Son of God!
- Saul began to pursue Christians into foreign cities. However, during his journey to Damascus, a light shined brightly from heaven where Jesus told Saul to stop persecuting Christians and to enter the city to be told what he must do.
- Saul couldn't see, eat or drink for three days before one of God's disciples, Ananias, entered the house that Saul was staying in. Ananias laid his hands on him and baptized him to become Christian, as Jesus had asked him to.
- Saul immediately began to spread the word of Christianity and preach that Jesus is the Messiah, in synagogues. This baffled the Jews in Damascus so they plotted to kill Saul.
- Kill him!
- Saul became aware of this plan and the Jews were guarding the city gates during the day, so at night, Saul's followers lowered him into a basket through an opening in the wall before he visits Jerusalem to meet with the other apostles.
