- Macbeth wants more informations about the Futur. The witches show him three apparitions: one warning him about Macduff, one telling no naturally born man can harm him and finally, one telling him he will not be defeated until Birnam Woods come to Dunsinane. Macbeth is reassured but still wants to kill Macduff and his family to be sure
- Macbeth is still hungry for information so the witches show one last vision: Eight kings and Banquo's ghost arrive. The eight kings look very similar to Banquo (same eyes and hair). Macbeth doesn't understand and wants explenations but the witches vanish...
- As Macduff went to England, Lady Macduff thinks he flead of madness or lack of love. Ross tries to comfort her by saying how he is a good man, that he would never abandon herand her son tries to do jokes.
- After the exit of Ross and a servant, a murderer (sent by Macbeth) arrives and kill her son. Lady Macbeth is killes after, off scene.
- In England, Macduff is urging Malcolm to help him overtake the tyranny of Macbeth. At first, Malcolm says it isn't in his interests and believes that Macduff is an agent of Macbeth.
- Ross arrives but first lies about the condition of Macduff's family as he says that they are going well. He eventually say the truth and Macduff feels incredibly guilty about it. The murder of the Macduff family convinces Malcolm that Macduff is speaking truth so he accepts to help Macduff
