- Mollify means to soothe someone's angry temper;to make less severe or intense.
- David saw another kid at the park. David decided to try an mollify the boy's angry temper and soothe him.
- David was a very officious person. He was helpful, but sometimes too much. The boy decided to walk home with him because David insisted on figuring out why he was angry.
- Officious means too helpful; overly forwarding in wanting to assist.
- Quintessential means a characteristic of that wish is pure, perfect, concentrated.
- When they arrived to the boy's house the boy complimented David's quintessential personality. He was a pure and concentrated person.
- Pander means to try to appeal/satisfy ones desires or wishes.
- As David walked home he pandered and try to think of way to help his friends reach his dreams.
- When David arrived in his room at home he noticed his room smelled rancid. It had a bad odor and was very messy.
- Rancid means having a very bad odor.
- Surreptitious means performed in secret.
- David was surreptitious when doing his laundry so his mom wouldn't lecture him for having a messy room. He did it very secretively.
