- In this board, Thomas Jefferson is asking Meriwether Lewis to explore the uncharted West, and to find a water route to the Pacific Ocean. Thomas Jefferson chose Lewis for this job because Lewis was his private secretary, army officer, and an amateur scientist.
- In this board, Meriwether Lewis is asking William Clark to join him on his mission to explore Louisiana territory. Lewis's mission (and now Clark's mission), called, Manifest Destiny.
