- Ponyboy says to Johnny in a confused suprised voice, 'You really killed him, huh, Johnny' (Hinton 57).This scene is when Ponyboy was being drowned by the soc, David. Johnny stabbed Robert Sheldon. I picked this evidence because it is apart of the climax and is a key scene in the story.
- #160;Johnny thought while he was going into the church, But this church gave me kind of a creepy feeling. What do you call it? Premonition? I flopped down on the floor- and immediately decided not to do any more flopping. That floor was stone and hard (Hinton 67).This scene represents the aftermath of Pony and Johnny running away after the murder of Robert Sheldon. I picked this scene because its a big part of the story and shapes the climax. When they ran to the church in WIndrixville it is the falling action.
- The text says during this traumatic scene, He was jerked half around by the impact of the bullets, then slowly crumpled with a look of grim triumph on his face (Hinton 131).
