- The three estates of French society met to try and solve issues that were causing problems like tax paying. Conflicts at once started because the three estates could not decide how to vote on the situation. (Political)

- On June 20th 1789 the third estate established the National Assembly, the new revolutionary government and pledged "not to separate, and to reassemble wherever circumstances require, until the constitution of the kingdom is established." (Political / Economic)

- The reign of terror was a period in time during the French Revolution after the first French Republic was established in which of time there were great massacres and people were publicly executed. (Political)
- Napoleon overthrew the system of government under the directory in France and substituted the consulate. This event is often seen as the cause for the end of the French Revolution. (Political)
- Napoleon began to expand his empire by taking over other countries that surrounded France.
