  • The middle colonies relied on many things for economy due to their diverse goods. They grew many crops to trade and feed their own, while also working in logging, shipbuilding, textiles production, and paper making. Philadelphia and New York were also major shipping hubs, and many craftsman were there. Some examples include blacksmiths, silversmiths, cobblers, wheelwrights, wigmakers, milliners, and more.

  • The middle colonies existed in the mid-Atlantic region of America. They had a moderate climate, with warm summers and cold winters. Their climate and soil were ideal for agriculture. They had coastal plains along the coastline, rolling hills in the middle, and mountains farther inland. They had good coastal harbors for shipping/trading, along with a convenient central location.

  • In the middle colonies, people of all religions gathered due to the religious tolerance. This was due to the Quakers' beliefs, because William Penn, the creator of the colony, wanted religious freedom and a peaceful refuge for all religions. In the colonies, you trade with your neighbors for things. People worked in craftsmanship, farming, trading, and bread-making.
