  • If you don't want the monkey's paw, then I'll take it. 
  • Beware! The monkey's paw has a deadly curse! Don't use it carelessly!
  • Rising Action
  • I'm sorry, Sir, Ma'am. Herbert died while working the machinery at work. Your compensation is 200 pounds. Maw and Meggins offers there condolences. 
  • Knock Knock Knock
  • Mr. White and Herbert, his son, are playing chess on the floor. There is a cackling fire in the background, for heat and light. Mrs. White is in the kitchen preparing dinner for the guest they are about to have. The night was dark and wet.
  • Climax
  • Herbert! Herbert!
  • Their guest, Sergeant-Major Morris, told the White family about the monkey's paw curse. He ends up throwing the paw in the fire, so he can end the curse. Mr. White saves the monkey paw from the fire and says that if it's useless to Morris, then he'll keep it. Once Sergeant-Major Morris left the house, the white family discussed if the curse was real. In the end Herbert convinced his father to wish for 200 pounds, enough money to pay off the mortgage.

  • The next day a man knocks on Mr. and Mrs. White's door. He informs them that their son Herbert has died at work. Maw and Meggins, the company Herbert worked for, is compensating them 200 pounds. 200 pounds is how much they wished for. Coincidence or not? Weeks later Mrs. WIght wakes up and realizes they just have to wish for their son to be alive again. She convinces Mr. White to wish that Herbert is alive again. After Mr. White wishes Hebert was alive there is knocking on the White's door. Fearing the mangled Herbert he could only identify by his clothes was behind the door, Mr. White needs to act fast to keep the monster out.
  • Falling Action
  • My boy is gone! *sobbing*
  • Mr. White frantically looks for the monkey's paw to use his last wish. Ms. White is closer to unlocking the door to let 'Herbert' in. As soon as Mr. White found the paw, he wished that whatever was outside their door be dead. The knocking stops.
  • Mrs. Wight finally opens the door to reveal nothing. Mr. White is relieved and Mrs. Wight is confused.
  • Mr. Wight goes and looks outside to make sure the mangled zombie Herbert is gone. Mrs. White has realized that she will not get her son back and goes back to mourning. The monkey's paw has used all of it's wishes and lays forgotten in the corner.
