- Romeo is upset because Rosaline does not like him. Benvolio tries to help him by giving him advice.
- It's sad, love looks like a nice thing, but it is rough when you actually experience it.
- What is it Romeo? Why do you look so sad?
- I love Rosaline, but she doesn't love me
- Count Paris asks Capulet if he had permission to marry Juliet. Capulet asks if Paris would wait two years since Juliet was only 13. He also invites Paris to his party, and gives his servant party invitations, but he can not read.
- Hand out invitations my servant!
- You may, but can you wait two years? She is only thirteen. Would like to come to my party I am hosting?
- Good afternoon Lord Capulet, I was wondering if I had permission to marry your daughter.
- Lord Capulet's servant calls for help to read the invitations, and Romeo, Mercutio, and Benvolio decide that they were going to go to the party to lighten the spirits of Romeo. It is a masked party, so no one will realize they are Montagues.
- Can anybody help me read this invitation list?
- Romeo this party will cheer you up!
- It is a masked party so the Capulets will not recognize us.
- Nice to meet you, I am Juliet.
- Romeo goes to the Capulet's ball and meets Juliet. They are together for the entire ball getting to know each other. They both fall in love with each other.
- Hello my name is Romeo.
- O Romeo, Romeo! Wherefore art thou Romeo? Deny they father and refuse thy name. Or, if thou wilt not, be but sworn my love, And I'll no longer be a Capulet.
- I take thee at thy word. Call me but love, and I'll be new baptized. Henceforth I never will be Romeo
- Because they are in rivaling families, Juliet wishes Romeo would change his name, so they can be together. Romeo agrees, and says he will change his name to be with Juliet. They go to Friar Laurence, and get married.
- After an argument, Tybalt stabs Mercutio, killing him in the process. An angry Romeo chases after him, hoping for revenge for his friend. Romeo ends up chasing Tybalt down, and he kills him. After this, Romeo is banished from Verona.
- How could you Tybalt! You will pay for this!
