- “Its a month that you are away from me and Ben, I already told you that, you being away from us is putting a strain on our marriage and the way how we raise Ben. He doesn’t understand why you always have to leave, especially when you said you won’t”
- “I need to go in because they don’t have anyone else that can defuse the bombs like I can. And you know that I will come back and stay for longer. I am only going now because the guy named Thompson can’t do it anymore”
- “Come on baby you need to go and say goodbye to your Dad, he will be going away for a little bit”
- “I don’t want you to go what if you don’t make it this time. With everything that is going on in Iraq, the possibilities is endless.”
- Sergeant James just found out he has to deploy to Iraq for a rotation of a month even though the last time he was on deployment he promised he won't ever go back.

- Connie James goes to their son's room to go and fetch him to say goodbye to Sergeant James.
