- Japan might bomb the pearl harbor!
- She invite me to her birthday party!?I wonder what i'm going to wear!
- Did you get her a present!?
- I bought her a beautiful scarf... for 4 dollars.
- 4 DOLLARS!We could have used that for food.
- Sumiko's family gets warned that the Japanese might bomb somewhere around America, and if they do then they may be going to jail.
- I'm sorry, i didn't know she invited... YOU?! take your present and leave.
- I'M BEING UNINVITED!!!

- The popular girl at Sumiko's school has invited her whole class. Including her!
- The Pearl harbor has been bombed by the Japanese!
- Sumiko's grandfather had bought the popular girl a beautiful flower scarf worth 4 dollars. Her Auntie made a good point that the 4 dollars spent on that scarf could have been used for food or useful stuff.
- (Sighs) Why do we have to sell you Baba? I don't want a new home, i want to stay here!

- The popular girls Mum didn't know that her daughter had invited Sumiko. So she did her job of uninviting her because she was Japanese. Sumiko burst into tears running away with her present.
- Tak-Tak and Sumiko overheard their caretakers saying that Japan bombed the Pearl Harbor, and now all the American citizens accuse Japanese people as being secret agents and going to bomb other places in America. Now they are going to arrest all Japanese people even if they are innocent
- We are going to have to pack our stuff and somehow get money to leave this country.
- How are we going to tell Sumiko and Tak-Tak?
- Sumiko's family now have to sell there stuff to get money to move so they don't get caught. Including Tak-Tak's pet horse, Baba.
