Storyboard Text

  • Act 1 represents acts of communion because the sergeant was invited to play chess and they had whiskey and tea.
  • Sergeant Major Morris arrives at the house of Mr. and Mrs. White to have dinner and tea, and they talk about the monkey's paw. Mr. White makes a wish for 200 pounds
  • If you don't want it Morris, give it to me.

  • In Act 2, there is a visitor at the White's house and he breaks the news of Herbert's death. The family gets a compensation of 200 pounds, and they are shocked that it is the same amount they wished for.

  • In Act 3, Mrs. White is desperate for her son to come back, so she uses the Monkey's Paw to make him return. Mr. White knows it won't end well, so he struggles to find the Monkey's Paw and wishes for Herbert not to come back for his final wish.
  • The lit professor element that was displayed in this act was weather, the act started in a dark cemetery, foreshadowing the ominous ending.
