- oneday in the very hot and dry outback, there was a mob of kangaroos who had newborn joey called Little Roger.
- The kangaroos stared at him when they saw that little Roger did not have a tail. Some of the kangaroos said he looked like a koala, and they laughed and mocked him.
- It made Little Roger sad, and he had the rightto be, but he stood up to them. With his strongest, squeaky voice, he said, “Doyou guys want to race? And if I win, will you guys stop and accept me for who Iam?”
- ‘That sounds fair’ they said. LittleRoger lined up with the big kangaroos. With his tiny legs and no tail, he felt nervous, but he believed in himself. The emu made a loud cheap and they were off.
- In a heartbeat Little Roger wasalready behind, but he knew the race was not over. He tried to hop, butinstead, something incredible happened. With no big bulky tail, he could runlike the wind. He ran so fast that hecaught up to the kangaroos and managed to get into to 3rd place.
- With the koalas and emus cheering him on he felt invincible, like the whole worldwas on his side, but he still was not fast enough to beat the two biggest kangaroos
- . After the race they all gathered, and they said that little Roger should not be cutfrom the group just for not having a tail but be there for who he is
- and then is welcomed back into the mob with open arms. Many years later roger is old, and a little kangaroo is born without a tail but is welcomed as of roger was. Not for what he looks like but for who they are.
