Connie, age 8, was baby sitting Nancy and took her in her buggy to the Lagoon. She got distracted and the buggy rolled into the Lagoon surrounded by weeds and grasses. Nancy's face was barely above water, and her baby bonnet was down over her eyes. Connie refused to go in the water because of the weeds, but, luckily, a passerby saw the situation and retrieved Nancy. Connie then took her home soaking wet to face their mother.
Connie, age 8, is taking her baby sister Nancy to the Lagoon in her baby carriage.
At her age Connie was easily distracted by the goose, and left the carriage, and Nancy, unattended.
As luck would have it the carriage rolled into the lagoon and Nancy was up to her chin in water, her baby bonnet falling down over her eyes.
Because there were yucky weeds and grasses in the Lagoon Connie refused to go in after Nancy. Luckily a man and his wife were driving by and saw the situation and came to the rescue.
The man and wife loaded the carriage in their trunk and drove Connie and Nancy safely home.
Sure enough, mom was not a happy camper. Connie, however explained about the goose and the weeds, and somehow lived to strike again.
