- Thomas Jefferson was in charge of the Louisiana Purchase.It was owned by France.It costed $15 million(4 cents an acre).This made U.S a lot bigger.
- California Gold Rush
- Thomas Jefferson sent Meriwether Lewis to explore the Louisiana territory.With the help of Sacagawea and the Corps of Discovery.They found 182 plants, 120 animals,and more land.
- Oregon Trail
- The Alamo is a fort and at that fort a battle happened. Texas was owned by Mexico and when american settlers moved into Texas.They had many disagreements between Mexico and them,so they had a war at the Alamo.Many people died.
- The California Gold Rush is was when gold was discovered in California.Soon 250,000 people came to California. These people were called 49ers since it was 1849.This gold Rush only lasted 5 years and it changed California forever.
- The Oregon trail is trail trough the Rocky Mountains.This trail was 2,000 miles long.It started from Missouri and ended in Oregon.This helped travelers in wagons get to the west.
