I finally found the perfect place. A school in Mumbai, India, it accepts donations to help children at the school. They ALSO ASK FOR VOLUNTEERS!!! This is perfect.
The next day
3 years later
I have to do something. I can't just sit and watch as all these awful things are happening.
I hope to find ways to raise money and eventually, hopefully, get to go to Mumbai and do volunteer work there. But I am going to need some help.
Yes, yes, yes and yes! I want to help however I can.
Me too. Plus, this would look great on college applications.
Mom? Dad? I'm definitely going to need your guys' support and approval for this.
If this is something you are really passionate about, then of course, we want to help.
I am so, so incredibly proud of you.
It's been 3 years since that night in the living room. Since then, I have continued to hold fundraisers and raise money to donate to the school and other organizations in India that I've worked with.
I've been to Mumbai twice, and they were the best trips of my life. I currently go to Binghamton University, and this whole experience of starting my own non-profit, volunteering, and helping others has made me realize how many things I took for granted in my life and how just one person can make a huge change.
