- Pele is known as one of the greatest footballers of all time due to his shooting skills and pace. He played for FC Santos ans the Brazil national team.
- Hi, My name is Pele, and I was born on 23rd October 1940. I belonged to a underprivileged family, since a very young age I loved to play football, so I played with my friends using socks rolled up in a ball and since we couldn't afford shoes we played without them and this is the reason why the team which consisted of me and my friends was called "The Shoeless Ones"
- He has won 3 world cups with his national team contributing to every single one.
- Oh yes! I nearly forgot to tell you... There is a reason why my name was kept Pele, my real name is Edson Arantes do Nascimento. During school days, I was a very big fan of the Brazilian goalkeeper Bile but I couldn't pronounce his name properly and always ended up saying Pele instead of Bile and therefore people started calling me Pele.
- In club level he has 892 goals for santos and for Brazil he has 77 goals.
- When I was only 15, I was signed by Santos. In my debut match I scored 4 goals, and lastly in 1969 the Brazilian government declared me as a national treasure to stop me from being transferred out of the country.
