Storyboard Text

  • According to Luke’s Gospel (Luke 22:7-38) Jesus chose to celebrate his final Passover with his 12 disciples the night before he was crucified. He spoke to Peter and John about this and asked that they go to the meeting place and “make preparations for us there”.
  • Go and seek a hidden room that had been specially prepared for us
  • When they arrived, Peter and John found everything just as Jesus had told them, and they prepared the Passover meal.
  • During the Last Supper, Jesus took the two Passover symbols and gave them new meaning as a way to remember His upcoming sacriicefice. First he took the cup#160; gave thanks and spoke again to his disciples.
  • Take this and divide it among you. For I tell you that from now on I will not drink of the fruit of the vine until the kingdom of God comes
  • Then he took the loaf of bread, gave thanks and broke it, and gave it to them as he spoke. After supper, he took the cup, saying, “This cup is the new covenant in my blood, which is poured out for you
  • This is my body which is given for you; do this in remembrance of me
  • Also during the Last Supper, Jesus taught the principles of servanthood and forgiveness by washing His disciples’ feet to show his humbleness and humility.
  • the greatest among you should be like the youngest, and the one who rules like the one who serves
  • Finally Jesus predicts Peter, his most loyal disciple will deny “three times that you know me” because of human weakness and fear. Once Supper had ended, Jesus leaves his disciples to pray.
  • This failure will make you stronger and will lead you to training others to follow the Lord jesus
