- After Jing-mei disappointed her mother once again she looked at herself in the mirror she began to cry. She looked at herself and saw a sad ugly girl and that was the point that she knew that she didnt want to be a prodigy and doesnt care for the things her mom wants her to do.

- Jing-mei’s mother and her just moved to America, and her mother wants jing-mei to be a prodigy, wants her to have money and be famous, her mother got magi-zanies to help them find things to do to get famous and become a prodigy like she wants her daughter to be.

- Jing-mei met her neighbor Mr. Chong who played orchestra and jing-meis mom thought it would be a good idea to get piano lessons from him , jing-mei doesn’t like these lessons.

- i know you can play!!
- After jing-mei’s mother found out about her not wanting to be a prodigy and finally wanting to do her own thing she got upset. they fought and fought about how jing-mei not wanting to be a prodigy and her telling her mom that she will no be someone she isnt .and some words that were hurtful, Jing-mei ended up telling her mother i wish i was never born

- Jing-mei and her mother ended up not talking for a good while and jing-mei was on her own, she dropped out of college, and she could believe she could be herself. then talked to her mother and played piano one more time
- In time jing-mei got older and became a prodigy but that didn't change her and she really didn't feel like a prodigy. After a while jing-mei's mother and her reunited and her mother ended up gifting her on her birthday her old piano that she used to play
