- One day, a Disaster Risk and Reduction Management Team Leader announced that they will be having a seminar about Disaster Risk Preparedness at Barangay Carromata.
- Good day everyone! We will be having a seminar about Disaster Risk Preparedness on Friday at exactly 1:00 pm! I hope to see you there!
- Aish, there is nothing important there, it is just a waste of time!
- But sadly, some of the family members refused to come, just like the Family Gomez.
- Miggy was sad. But even though his family won't come, he is so determined to attend the seminar because this might be helpful. And so, he attended the seminar.
- I need to attend! I'm sure I can learn many things that all people need to apply to their lives!
- After attending the seminar, Miggy went home. While they are watching on the television, the news pop up and said that Typhoon Yolanda is expected to have a landfall and their area would be affected.
- Miggy said that they should prepare first aid kits, clothes and canned goods in case of emergency, so his other family members insisted to start packing up the mostly needed things.
- Typhoon Yolanda is now getting stronger and is carrying strong wind. Expect heavy rainfall and flooding in some areas, especially those that are near coastal areas.
- BREAKING NEWS
- Mom! Dad! We should prepare now!
- Nah, we won't be greatly affected by the typhoon.
- AAAAAHHH!
- A few hours later, the typhoon made a landfall, causing their area to be flooded. The Family Gomez evacuated immediately to their designated area or evacuation center to ensure safety.
- HELP!
- LET'S EVACUATE!
- Indeed disasters are unexpected but there are signs. The other day each member of the community are helping each other to restore what is being damaged, in all the ways they can.
- Typhoon Yolanda caused the community to have lots of damage especially in its resources. The trees and posts of electricity have been destroyed and fell to the houses and grounds.
- After the Typhoon Yolanda, Gomez Family calls for emergency response team to help their community to save lives and reduce health impacts.
